I've left it on too long and wound up having to sand lightly with steel wool. B-C Tru-Oil does go sticky after a very short period of time (5-10 min). The only option at that point is to wait 24 hours, sand it down LIGHTLY, and either re-apply and wipe off, or move on to the wax.
I use a very small amount of lemon oil to clean really dirty spots, but otherwise, the Wonder Wipes really do the trick.
