I like that idea. However, if you lose the strap that has the other "end" - you're screwed.....

18 years, and I haven't gone to a gig without a strap yet--it helps to keep a spare (Comfortstrap) in my gigbag. :D All of my straps have Dunlops.

Bassmonkee, where do you get your straps from?

EDIT: nevermind, did some research on moody leather... damn, i shoulda got one of those instead. italia straps suck btw. work well i guess, but quality is total feces. they sent us the wrong strap at first (ordered a leather front, gave a full suede one). in the end had to buy another strap from them (they refunded the missing value from the other strap for us to get this one though and customer service seemed good once you're willing to buy from them) which had equally sucky quality. product does not match up to the quality of those in the images shown on their site either. sadly, anything you could find in an aussie shop was about the same quality. sorry just venting :D

Well, the guy behind Italia Leather USED to be married to the lady behind Moody Leather. Apparently, she has all the talent.

A lot of people probably wouldn't recommend this especially when trying to safeguard a valuable instrument such as a SR, Sterling or Bongo, but a very inexpensive solution are safey pins. I've been using them on old basses before I bought a MM and never had a problem and now still have never had an incident while using them on my SR4. Of course it may look a little tacky, but it really isn't that evident. :)

I wouldn't mind trying some Dunlops some time. I have all Schallers and they do fine though. I do use loc-tite on the nut to keep it from loosening. Never had one of mine come loose after the loc-tite treatment.
