So i don't know about ya'll but i use my Bongo all the time probably around 20 hours a week and the bats, for me, have been lasting about a month to a month and 1/2 which isn't all that unsual for an active bass at all. The thing is that when i get my two packs of Duracells, on as a spare, i've been noticing that sometime one of them won't fit. The bottom end of them seems to be just a little too long. I'm wondering if anyone has had the same trouble. And if so what'd ya do about it? Honestly, i'm thinking abotu just smaking mine on a concrete wall untill the fit. Let me know, long live Bongo!

Hey ~ off the topic for a sec, but I didn't realize you were local when you PM'd me about the FL Bongo.

When we get the local Forumites together for drinks in San Mateo, the 'Welcome' mat is out for you!

Sometimes batteries won't fit simply because they're too long. This isn't a problem of the Bongo, but a problem of the batteries. I think someone from EB said here that even batteries from the same manufacturer and of like models have been found to be in varying lengths. I guess the solution there is to just use another battery?

As a guitar repairer I once earned a reasonable sum [1] for repairing an electro-acoustic that kept cutting in and out by packing the battery box with the cardboard from a string packet as it was small enough for the battery to slide such that the contacts were broken. It didn't make sense to make it a permanent repair as the next battery could have been much longer.

[1] I once had a bass in for a repair which involved removing the battery cover to reveal no battery at all. Nice to balance with those jobs that you can't charge the full number of hours spent head-scratching.

Maybe a battery exchange program needs to be setup? See whose can fit what and trade accordingly so no batteries are wasted. Is postage gonna keep it worth it? Or maybe some regional swap meets?

No set dates as of yet, but Beej is headed down here in the next few weeks, and Phatduckk should be paroled by then. :D

We can also get TNT and Bass-sic in on this, as well as any local Pit'rs that may want to jump in on this...since a few of us do cross forums frequently.

I'm thinking that once we set a date, we do a little online re-con on the local jam nights...then crash the party BIG TIME! :D

I suggest figuring out which batteries are too long and then using the long ones in stomp boxes, wireless transmitters, tuners and other crap. Use the ones that are the correct length for your basses. First, you're going to have to figure out what the correct length is.
