Sterling is quite a character. That was a fun show. A keen eye would have spotted Blues Saraceno at the dinner party too.
No wonder Dweezil, Lisa, and Blues get custom AL's.

Speaking of Lisa, she played her custom 'pink' Sparkle AL at a Dweezil and Lisa gig I saw Feb. 24. Although, the guitar didn't look pink, more like a creme Sparkle. She attempted to solo on one of DZ's songs. Not bad, but she needs to stick to the acoustic. It was a killer show. Dweezil had about 45 minutes of the show to feature his music, Van Halen's Eruption, and a 12 minute Frank Zappa Medley. Excellent guitar heavy show. Too bad it only lasted for 6 dates. Dweezil left mid tour for 'personal reasons.' He didn't play his AL though, but two custom shop GMW guitars.

Are Dweezil and Lisa married?

I was checking out the people at the dinner table to see if I recognized anyone...I don't know Saraceno so didn't recognize him. Good eye.

I think they should produce a limited edition run of Dweezil and Lisa Albert Lees so that we can own guitars that cool too!! Hey, if Joe Perry and Jimmy Page and Ace Frehley can have their own Les Pauls, then Dweezil and Lisa can have sig. ALs! Come on, EB!!

Blues, who now has short hair, was the guy in the white shirt who said he usually hated mushrooms, but not Sterlings. Hey he has to say that...gotta get those bonus points...:p

I'd LOVE to have the AL that Dweezil has. Sweet and very functional. I believe he's has a Piezo in the neck and a Seth Lover bridge pup. And I always dig Sparkles.

I don't think Dweezil and Lisa are married, but they have been together for 5 or 6 years. Although, rumours are flying that there's trouble because he left the Dweezil and Lisa tour 6 shows into it. Who knows.... I do know he has a new CD that's hopefully gonna be out in April. It's intended to be 'guitar heavy.'
He played some songs off of it at the show I saw. Good stuff. It'll be called Go With What You Know. I'd LOVE to see him and Blues Saraceno do a tour together to support the CD. Wishful thinking...

peter71,

You do know that Dweezil left the tour six dates into it don't you?
It's just Lisa doing her songs with a kick butt band, but no Dweezil. I saw the last show he did on the tour and I feel forever blessed for it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :(
They (Food Network) continue to advertise it as Dweezil and Lisa, which is causing a lot of problems for Zappa fans.

Actually, there is no way that the little yellow frowny face can convey the sadness that I now feel. Especially since I have a rather large pink frowny face.

On the bright side, I really love Lisa Loeb, so that should be great.

On my wife's bright side, she doesn't share the same adoration for Dweezil that I do, so she will probably like it more.

:(

(never has my sig felt so true...)

On another bright side, the band is VERY good. Especially drummer Joe Travers, who has worked with Dweezil and for the Zappa's for over 10 years now. Matt Beck is a fine guitar/keyboard player in his own right, so it should still be a good show if you like Lisa's music anyway. But it does suck that Dweezil won't be there. He was ON the night I saw him. The 15 minute Frank Zappa Medley was worth the cost of the ticket and then some.

Also, Lisa is playing, or she did at my show, the EBMM Albert Lee on a song or two. It's kind of fun to look at. MMMM Sparkles....
Have a good time!

Is it just me or is Lisa pretty hot in a quirky sorta way?!...;) Maybe I should keep those thoughts to myself!

Especailly a handlebar mustache. Those are a major turn off.

I think the thing about Lisa that is most attractive is that she doesn't seem to be like most girls. Her songs have a lot more to them musically and lyrically than a lot of popular female artists, and she likes to have fun with her music.

She did a song called Pretty White Kids on Mad TV that was hystarical!

You mean popular female artists we might hear on the radio, right? Of course, just about everyone on the radio sucks.

Just to name a few rockin' females- Lucinda Williams, Kathleen Edwards, Aimee Mann, Bjork, Julie Miller, The girl from the Cardigans, Margo Timmins, Erin McKeown, Chrissie Hind, Gillian Welch, etc....

To me, Lisa's music is a little too fluffy. I'll take Ani Difranco or Tori Amos if I had to choose. Or Joni Mitchell. Anyone who's ever heard her Shadows and Light CD will know what I mean. Put it this way, I like Lisa's music with Dweezil Zappa adding something to it. Without him I'm just not that interested, although she has written some good songs before he entered the picture. Taffy and I Do come to mind. But I do agree that she seems to have some little 'quirk' about her that makes her appealing.

The Dweezil and Lisa cooking show or a copy of one of the live gigs on this little tour? If your looking for the cooking show, it's on the Food Network. Check their site out at foodnetwork.com. If your looking for a copy of a live show, there's one of the Boston gig floating around.
