I use regular Slinky's: 10-46 on a Steve Morse guitar.
When I tune the high E-string up to E and pick it, I hear this popping sound and then the string goes teriribly flat. I can never get it back up to E again.
Upon examination of the string, I can see a little ripple in it where it's obviously streched. The streching occurs at the same place - between the stop bar and the bridge. I've been through 4 packs just to get en E string that will work.
Has anyone heard of this one before?
Was there a bad batch of E-strings?
Thanks for any insight.
