Here's an early amber EVH - serial number 80181

I was wondering if I could get a DOB on it please? Also, I was told by a few people that the real early ones had a slightly different pickup winding than the later production guitars - is this true? It definitely sounds warmer than my other EVH.

Welcome to the forum, LWK!

This EVH in Translucent Pink :)confused: ) was born on 23 August 1991 in the factory in San Luis Obispo, California and was originally sold to Musik Meyer GmbH, our distributor for Germany and Austria.

Perhaps a faded t-pink? Body swap?

Enjoy, nonetheless!

Very strange. It's definitely amber. I picked it up used from a guy back in 1998. I wonder if he swapped neckplates? Or maybe the info just got mixed up on the number? Either way its a sweet guitar!

I know EB used to refinish the EVHs back then, they don't do it now and I'd say they only would have refinished it in the original colour. may be just a simple clerical error
