I can't remember if I posted 2 months ago when I first received my EB coated strings...
I was very surprised to notice that the coating is invisible compared to Elixir strings coating
they really feel like uncoated strings , tone is great, but as I see the tone does not last longer than the one from the normal EB strings...
I've noticed after 3-4 weeks a change in color and tone for sure
what is you feedback , those who use the coated strings? :D

best regards,

Paul

PS: I hope this thread is not considered against the forum rules , is just an honest feedback, I bought 12 sets anyway :p

I think they are great! They are lasting me forever, but then again I dont play many hours every single day unfortunately. I do wipe them down after each time I play and use the wonder wipes when the strings start getting a bit sticky feeling. But I like the tone a lot, and yes they do not feel like they are coated at all. They definitely lasted me much longer then the RPS Slinkys.

This thread might belong under the strings section :D.

I have them on my acoustics and they're great... and seem to hold that brightness much longer than the non-coated...

i have stuck with the traditional non-coated for my electric guitar... no need to mess with a good thing for me... but then again i have two cases of them so no need to go out and buy just for the sake of buying...

Moved 'er to the strings section.

I've been using the coateds for well over a year, I use the Super Slinkys as well, mix them up on different guitars.

The coateds don't last forever, but I find they last a lot longer than the uncoated strings. They retain that bright quality for much longer to my ears. But I suspect body chemistry is going to be an issue, and they'll probably wear differently for different people.

I bought some coated power slinkies for my 16 year old. He plays a John Petrucci, but has very sweaty hands. I suspect that the coated strings will last longer than uncoated, but not forever.

I don't have sweaty hands at all, I would say the contrary :p
of course this a subjective issue like many others, but I was curious to find any other feedback.
What surprised me more was the fact that you can't really see at all or feel the coating, comparing to Elixir :):)
I don't know if this is a + or - :D

I like them for all my guitars that don't get used regularly, so when I do go to that guitar the strings sound and feel fresh. The guitars I use more often have the non coated strings
