well i just had some question regarding the new EB Coated Titanium reinforced strings.

has anyone tried them, and are you satisfied with them? im planing on switching over to them if they indeed last longer and if can get singles.:)
 
Hey Now,

As soon as I saw them at the local GC, I put em on my Morse. If you're looking for longer string life, these are definitely the way to go. I usually use RPS 10's and didn't notice any difference in sound.

I've put a set on my son's geetar and that was over 40 days ago, my son almost lives with that axe strapped on him 24/7 and to my surprise they still sound fresh. Worth the money

The coated slinkys are available as singles but you most likely will have to special order them in a pack of 6 for each gauge. The electrics just hit the streets and most of the dealers are stocking the sets before they dive into singles. I recommend contacting Pete Dubaldo and he'll get you what you need. Or, send me your zip code and I'll find a dealer for you.

If you don't like changing strings, you'll love these! I play bass 90%of the time, but occasionally I like to play my MM Luke. I put on new strings and play for a few days, then pick it up months later and my strings have gone dead. Now I don't have that problem!

I have been using them on my JP for the last month or so, and they have been working great! I noticed ZERO difference in the way they felt and played, but they have outlasted regular uncoated strings by a wide margin. Usually I have to change strings every week (or sooner) because I blacken them with finger acid, but these titanium slinkys have been delightful (yes I did just say delightful)

We stock most of the sets at the store, some singles may be available upon request :D

I put a set on my son's guitar and they are working great. I can't tell a difference sound wise and he can blacken a set of regular slinkys in a day.

Fred, glad the strings are going to good use! I can blacken regular strings in 1 set at a gig :D I have taken both EB string cleaner and 0000 steel wool to them in the past just to get a good shine again. After a week of playing (any brand) the strings need to come off. 20 hours tops for me! The Titanium Slinkys are going on 90 hours at this gig.

Yeah thanks, they came in real handy for him. Seeing is believeing with these strings. The damn things are almost pitted when he gets done with them.

I don't have that problem but I went out last weekend and bought 5 packs for myself. I had a $15 card from GC.
 
Ugh. So I called a bunch of local stores again, no dice getting these up here yet.

Damn, I'd really like to try 'em.

I have a couple of sets of super slinkys just waiting to put them on my Christmas Ball just have to wait 10 days:D

These strings got a great review in the current Guitar Player Mag:cool:
