I never see much written here or anywhere about EB flats. Does anyone here have any comments, or am I going to be the guinea pig?

I have a new set of Group Is (.055 - .130) that I bought for my SR5, and I think they're going on the Bongo when it gets here.

My string of choice for fours has been Fender 9050Ms, but they don't do a .130. I like high tension thud.

Hey Heavy Duty-
I have EB flats on one of my SR5 and a Bongo HH5--very useful in the studio and awesome live. You have made a good choice!!

Well, the Slinkys lasted one practice runthrough of our set - I just can't handle roundwounds. So, I mounted the Group Is and tweaked a few things.

So far, so good - I'll need several weeks to be sure, and several months before they really begin to settle down. But the tension is how I like it, and feel is good. No metal dust, either.

I may have found my solution for five string flats.
