Hey folks,

my friend ordered a new petrucci 6 and he was telling me that all ernie ball guitars in australia have gone up by $350, is that true? i hadnt read anything like that here on the boards.

i had a feeling the guitar shop owner was trying to rip him off.

Nope apparently they have gone up around 10 percent, right accross the board. I looked at a Steve Morse Y2D and they have gone over the 4000 mark

yep, 10% increase on all guitars shipped after October 10, or something like that, regardless of when ordered. I have an Axis SS on order since March, and its due any day, i had to save up quickly for the extra cash for the price rise, as it was announced in September ( i think ). the retail for this axe is almost 4600 ( note i didnt quote actual price! )

You guys are all right with the price increase.

If you visit webpage like basscentral.com you will get to know that there is a price increase of $150usd for order after 15 Oct. Some said, however, that the price increase is across the board for all delivery AFTER 15 Oct, regardless if you made an earlier order.

But you can be lucky sometimes. I found my Y2D and committed to the purchase after 15 Oct, late Oct to be exact. It is a standard top and the price offered by the dealer is even cheaper than what guitar center is offering! I guessed that they wanna clear stock. I was hesitant initially if I wanna get a premium top over a standard top. Not now! bcos when I visit the webpage again, the other Y2D is gone as well! The power of X'mas I guessed. :D

So keep looking around. You may still find one EBMM axe of your choice - at a good price!

a friend of mine told me, that the prices here in germany will also go up in 2007 for musicman guitars, and this has nothing to do with change of the sales-tax we have (16% until now, 19% from 2007).

i beleive all guitars and basses that left the factory after Oct 15 have been hit with the price increase. I think (not sure) that its a 10% price increase across the board.

FYI: this is the first price increase for MM instruments in 7 years. not bad considering inflation, cost of labor and cost of materials increases over the years.

Hey Phatty - i was right about the LE's heres a quote from BP in another thread

"Its not a rumor. Some prices are up more than ten percent. Some of our raw materials have gone up in excess of 50%. I could rattle off the over 30% increases like labor, workmans comp, electricty, freight, etc etc. But I think that people need to understand that This is not gouging, its trying to keep up a little.

All of our materials advise people that prices are subject to change without notice. I have not raised prices in 7 years and believe me its tight and this increase isnt as big as it should be.

There is no good way to handle price adjustments when you are in a backordered situation. We did not raise the prices of the 2006LTD's, Dargie Delights, 20th Anniversary Silhouette, or 30th Anniversary Stingray. All other instruments shipped after Octoober 15 regardless when ordered will be sent at the adjusted prices.

Please contact your dealer for more information."
