The KHL Corporation is ripping off ebs. Not sure if you are aware. I don't see too many people ripping off the silo, but they are. As well as the stingray. Just a heads up BP.

I looked through their guitar offereings and saw one guitar that looks like a 24fret silo style body with silo spec style guard... but headstock was not even close to an EBMM 4+2. http://nt.ec21.com/hdream/khlcorp/image/b_page_42.jpg

kimono - it resembles a silo but I bet the body dimensions are not correct. Also, look close and you'll see the pickguard isn't the same shape either, close, but no cigar.

I find it ironic that it says copyright at the bottom. I'm surprised ric hasn't hit them. They're sharks. Either way, it's definately a rip off of the stylings and if you don't keep up more people will try to do it.

you cant copyright that sort of thing, thatd be like copyrighting B major

i think companies put a lot of effort into copyrighting headstocks
however:

i guess however the little droopy spike on the end there makes it "unique" ... legally. i think at the end of the day it has to be a dimensional replica for a company to have a case against the other

Somehow ric does it. Hence the rarity of fakes. And although it is stratlike in nature, the bevels are a solid indicator of a silo. If the bevels were copyrighted, a case could possibly be made.

Those Rash guitars are Italian, I've been playing one few times, they're really great, similar to EBMM in some concepts but with different tonewoods, by the way they're completely hand made, very pricey but worth...

I don't think this 4+2 headstock is a mere copy, it is obviously ispired by our favorites but a different cup of tea thougt...

I don't think this 4+2 headstock is a mere copy, it is obviously ispired by our favorites but a different cup of tea thougt...

The 4+2 headstock is trademarked by Ernie Ball, not copyright protected. Because it is a trademark, no other companies in the USA can build a 4+2 for the purpose of resale.

Right, they can't be made overseas and then imported. Also, if EB holds international trademarks in other countries, depending on their laws, EB would be the only 4+2 there, also.
