I don't think they're released yet. I'd be all over it if they were and I think we would hear about it here and I haven't yet.

I do know the Wonder Wipes are out. We have some info on the Strap Locks, but they're not out yet. EB hasn't told us when to expect them either. :( We're all waiting for them.

Count me in as one who is anxiously waiting for them, too. I have a set of Dunlops on my SR5 right now, but they will be replaced with the EB ones when they are available.

Aside from brand loyalty (nothing wrong with that) may I ask what your reason for switching is?

I'm a satisfied user of Dunlops. If the EBMM straplocks are superior in any way I'll certainly switch, but we know nothing about them other than that they've got an Ernie Ball logo, have two little buttons and come in three colors.

I use a Bongo because it's a superior bass. I use Slinkys because I've not found a string I like better. But I use a Levy's strap because it's wide and comfortable...if EBMM made one that wide I'd use it, but they don't. I'm into using the products that meet my needs the best no matter who makes 'em.

My understanding is that the EB straplocks will fit with the stock strap pins. Therefore, no guitar mod would be necessary. Why would someone care what reason anybody would use/change a product for themselves?? If I am wrong about the modification issue, please let me know. If this is true, then you would be able to inter-change guitars with a minimal strap inventory. I, for one, am looking forward to them .

I guess you'd need at least two straps then - one strap fitted with EB straplocks for your EB basses, and another for the rest of the herd ....

1993 Alembic Epic 4
2003 MIA P (soon to be gone!)
2003 Geddy
1982 Ibby M924

I use acme straplocks on all my basses, which means one strap fits all. However, I do agree that for the guys who only have recent EB basses, the EB straplocks would be a great idea.

Where did that info come from? I recall a post in which somebody asked if that were the case, but I don't think I saw any reply.

Based only on the artwork we've seen, it looks to me as if they operate on the same principle as Dunlops...pin in socket.

The only way they'd work with the stock strap buttons would be if they worked like Schallers, or had some sort of claw to grip the button.

They work with the original strap button screws. That's it. So, no modifying the body for bigger/smaller screws. I believe that is the confusion here. The stock strap button will need to be replaced with the assembly for the straplock.

I'm getting a set for my Dargie Delight. I would put them on all of my Bongos, but I've already put recessed Dunlops on my other two Bongos.

I think the Dunlop tops are ugly, so I'll probably be putting these on my my few remaining non-EB basses. Some of my Dunlops are looking pretty ratty at this point, too. I can think of a few other reasons why someone would change them out--it's not that odd of a concept, really.

Maybe when you spend thirty plus years working very hard to make valid products with a minimum of hype, you might hit the jackpot and actually have people that have faith that you will build a better mouse trap. THese strap locks are really nice and the button that goes with them is mm like and usable if you lose your strap......

Useable when you lose your strap is going to hands down insure all my basses get EB straplocks.

BP that just rocks.

In a couple of months all my basses will have a set of those EB straplocks on them. :)

Aggie is gonna smile so big. :D
