i use an old EB volume with my g-major as an extra expressionpedal to controll the amount of delay within the presets.

have never tried if it would work with a mono cable, i use a Y-cable and connect it to the external in jack.

the other EB is used as a normal volumepedal for piezo sound and the two pedals on the FCB1010 are used as expressions as well.

this is the floorboard:

and this is the rig:

great explanation thanks. I have the GT-6 and love it.

Colin, if you haven't already, check out Welcome to Boss GT Central for truly terrific explanations for using external controllers - including Ernie Ball products :D

Yes, the GT-6 is a fantastic value for great sounds. Using the external volume pedal as a controller really makes it versatile for live usage.

joe, that's a dream rig! I like your configuration. Pardon my ignorance, but you're using the Boss midi board to control your g-major...and the EB pedals are connected to the midi board? again, very nice setup. :)

thank you zenmba.
the midiboard is a Behringer FCB1010 not a boss / roland, it is the best value for money board here in germany. i changed the firmware to the UnO software, so you can use the upper row as in real stompbox-mode .
the EB pedals aren´t connected to the board, the left one is a real volume for the piezo-signal and the right one is connected to the g-major "external in".

joe, thanks for the explanation (and clarification!). I should have looked more closely at your pic and your description!

I like that you have configured the FCB to operate the effects like stompboxes. Coupled with your pedals to control the g-major delay volume & piezo volume, I bet you have much versatility.

I've tried programming sounds specifically for each song, but spend more time tweaking and worrying about song order, etc. I think it's best to open up multiple effects like you have...unless you're Petrucci and have the time and resources to create an uber-rig programmed to the hilt.

Hi

I've just received a 250K Junior volume pedal that I'd like to use as an expression pedal with my All Access but it seems not to work properly, I heard there's a mod but I can't find it anyone as a clue? thanks

Years ago Rocktron released a product called a Taboo Artist Preamp and with it an EB pedal was supplied to be used as an expression pedal. Was this a standard EB volume pedal or was it a special design to be used as an expression pedal? I'm in the process of connecting an expression pedal and if I could use my EB pedal or even a EB junior...

Colin

Colin i just repaired one of these for someone - I have a manual if it's any good to you - the manual just quotes an EBMM volume pedal.
