Hey. I finally looked at the auction and noticed that it is in Torrance, where my office is. Is anyone serious enough about buying it that you woul want me to try to get a look at it?

Whatever else this bass may be, it does have a pretty weird seller...

He says ask questions before, but still the only two questions asked have been answered evasively?

I'd stay very very far from that bass, if only because the seller acts totally shady:(

I contacted the seller and it's already gone. They supposedly got $650 for it. Very interesting but who knows what it is.

I'm curious to know how that guy got a Sting Ray neck with 22 frets. Is there a way to contact the buyer? Maybe he can take the neck off and see if he can get some more info.

The string retainer is in an interesting spot. You can draw a straight line between the E post, the string retainer and the G post, which is a feature of a Sterling neck, not a Sting Ray neck. Unless they've changed over time. But again, the neck and headstock are way too big to be Sterling neck.
