have to throw in my two bits..

personally, I am not happy at all with this new policy of posting in a sticky. It only results in a post the is bloated and hard to navigate.

Is this what you'all want? yeah, it's a PRIVATE forum. We have no say whatever.

Ok

I'm with the opposite view, it was tiring to see all these posts with eBay listings. Anyone that is seriously looking for an EBMM on eBay would know about it already, or would be not far from knowing about it.

I think its a good idea. The primary purpose of this forum is not to help ebay sell EBMM guitars and basses, but if you looked at the posts over the last few weeks you would think it was. It won't be that hard to navigate the sticky, maybe it takes you an extra click or two, but I think you will survive.

for someone like me that has only bought 3 brand new guitars in my life, i like to see whats going on with EBs on the bay!

For me, I like having one sticky thread, just to help keep track of them if nothing else. I just go to the "last" page when it has new posts. My 2 cents.

The idea of the sticky for the eBay listings isn't a bad one, actually it does eliminate extra "stacking" of the threads shown per page. Maybe what is needed is a bit of restraint on our parts - if someone posts a listing, we should only comment on it if a warning is necessary (someone has had questionable dealings with the seller) or if one of us is bidding, so as not to cause a bidding war among us.

How does that sound? It would make that sticky easier to navigate - one posting of a listing on eBay, and the occasional "STAY AWAY!!" or "Hands off, she's mine" replies for the odd one.....

Just a thought...

I agree with the sticky approach. I can (and do) search eBay for things I want as well as the next guy.

...better make it 9-1, BP.

Also, +1 with grumpyoldman on this one....post the link, and then shut up (in the nicest sense meant, of course!) :) The more comments that get loaded up in that thread, the harder it is to navigate...

As far as reading the thread after the fact, that little button at the top labeled "View First Unread" is your best friend. It's a thing of magic, as it picks up right at the next post since your last visit. You should try it sometime...works wonders. :)
