Hi Guys,

Sorry to bother y'all with this, and I hope this is not out of line, but over at Basschat we're having a bit of a discussion about a Stingray Copy listed on eBay with an, according to the seller, kosher pre-EB MM neck. In addition the seller claims that EBMM has confirmed the necks authenticity. Obviously this is hearsay for us all, but the seller has a friend at the UK forum that defends this position, ie that EBMM has indicated the neck is a real pre-EB.

Heres the ebay listing: MusicMan Stingray Bass Guitar Copy | eBay UK
And here the Basschat UK discussion (I'm BB3000S on there): More fun on the eBay! - Basschat.co.uk

Even though the photos are poor, to me the neck looks fake. Right or wrong or to bad pics? No bullet truss rod, no skunk stripe, pre-EB logo -- does this really compute?

Thanks guys, and enjoy the sun. :)

Yeah, if that's a real neck, I'll eat my hat. And, I will eat a random stranger's hat if anyone from EB/MM confirmed that it was a real neck based on those pictures.

No bullet and the string retainer is in the wrong place for a Pre-EB...should be on the D and G, not the A and D.

This is why it is always a good idea to buy from an authorized Music Man dealer new or used or get the serial number and call customer service for verification.

Now the seller has changed the wording in the ad to "the neck appears to be kosher on first sight but it is not".
All is well. :)
