Well thanks to the kind folks in the parts department I now have a trem arm on the way. And they also were able to tell me my Axis was manufactured on January 21, 1998 and was originally sold from the Guitar Center in Chicago.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

Another question: Is it common for the neck and/or locking nut on the Axis to be shimmed? Mine was shimmed at both, and after attempting to re-string it without them I discovered they did indeed need to be there.

Every Axis I've taken a part (which is more than a few :D) have had a shim on the neck side. Don't know about the nut - never removed one of those.

BTW - nice guitar - she's a real beauty.

This is most definitely a friendly place--good to run into some buds here at the EB forums!

GuitarHack sold me two of my absolute favorite guitars.
