EBMM Axis SS 5-Way Selector

Has anyone put a different 5-way switch on an Axis SS with a shorter shaft? I understand why it is taller to coordinate with the knob height, but I would like it shorter. It looks like a normal 5 way switch and was planning to swap it out.

Easier might be to cut down the existing one. I've used heavy duty tin snips before, but I'm sure there are other options too (Dremel, etc.)

The switch itself is a 5-way 4-pole switch, so you'd need to replace it with something similar if you go that route.

Agreed with cutting but the only caveat for this is to make sure to not go too far that the knob hits the body in positions 1 and 5 which can impair the seating of the switch in those spots. Feels not so positive, at least that has been my experience.

I was gonna say exactly what those guys said.

The big string cutter in the EB Musicians Tool Kit will do the job. Cover it with a towel or something before you cut so the cut end doesn't fly across the room and take someone's eye out.

Thanks! It did cross my mind to cut it down. Guess I will give it a shot.
