I would like to suggest a separate forum on this Site for (EBMM only) classifieds ... perhaps one for EBMM guitars, one for EBMM basses. Sorry if this has been suggested before.

I'm counting the days ... my first EBMM bass (2006 LE Stingray 4 HH) s/b in my hands at the end of October (tick ...... tock ......). I was thinking I might start researching a second "every day" bass .... one I could use when the environmentals are a bit harsh eg at a cottage etc.. Maybe a Stingray 4 HS fretted with cosmetic (not structural) damage at a reasonable cost ... please advise if you have something you want to sell that might fit the bill. Thanks!

Just my $0.02 US, but I don't think it would be appropriate for a manufacturer-supported forum to have a classifieds section. There are MANY such outlets already, including most notably the Dudepit. Steve even alerts the EBMM knucklehead community to interesting EBMM listings there from time to time.

I have an Eden rig and I frequent their forum also. They have a classified section (for Eden only) that seems to work fine. Thanks for the info on the Dudepit ... I will check that out. I would prefer and be more comfortable buying a 2nd-hand EBMM bass from a trusted member of this site ...

The classifieds section at that other forum (TB) would get much more action than one here. Those guys over there are very trustworthy as well. You just have to be a supporting member to post an ad.

Best way to approach this is to post a WTB thread and ask for emails or pm's to take things offline.

I'm not sure it makes much sense to provide a specific venue for people to sell stuff. Would encourage people to simply show up, sell and otherwise not add to the forum. Deals gone bad would detract from this place more than deals gone good would add to it. I like how things work now. Ads FS/FT/WTB are allowed as long as nobody abuses things. I feel it has worked really well so far. You end up dealing with the people that have invested into this place or want to invest so the deals go well.

I have to agree with maddog on this one.

I think that it would detract from more than add to this forum. I have other venues for finding used basses and gear when that's what I want. Although I have bought three very nice basses right here from members of this forum.

I think that the way it is now has worked out just fine and it doesn't encourage someone that we don't know to just drop in and try to sell a bass.

My $.02.

I was trying to figure out what "PM" means for quite som time instead of asking .... but time has come ... what does "PM" mean?

Maddog ... what does "Ads FS/FT/WTB" mean?

Too many TLA's (Two or Three Letter Acronyms)!

The idea of a classified section came partly from seeing it on the Eden site ... and partly due to not knowing where the line is in terms of buying/selling on this forum.

Thanks again.

what randy said. Sorry about the acronym overload. I work with engineers. :D

My rules of thumbs on for sale ads are:

1. only EBMM products
2. establish thyself first.

The mods may weigh in differently and would be appreciated.

I can only speak for myself, I think you meet both of the above rules.

Asked and answered in the FAQ stuck up top:

11. Can I put a For Sale ad here on the forum?

A: If you're a regular member and it doesn't get out of hand, it's okay. If it begins to become a problem or turn into a classified ad space, we'll revisit the issue.

I think we should start requiring all for sale ads to be in the form of a haiku.

Fer example:

Musicman Stingray
For sale: They all want sparkles
but no one buys them

Maybe watered down genius.

As for Lucious, I got the impression that he already spoke in dirty limerick....
