I usually get my stuff from PMT in Birmingham. Really good guys for a large store and they've normally got 5-6 EB guitars in stock. They have 5 England branches so it might be worth a phone call and a day trip armed with a credit card, a thermos flask and a smile.

http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/

Electromusic in Doncaster normally have a lot but I can't remember the weblink. They knew I was travelling about 90 miles to pick up my first EB and when I got there, I was offered a cup of tea and a sit down! Once again, well recommended.

Of note, I went for a job at a different music store in Birmingham about a year back who also have branches up and down the UK and was interviewed by the owners. I told them what I played and they said it had been ages since they'd bought some Ernie Balls in. Long story short, I didn't get the job and they didn't buy any guitars in... In closing, I guess they felt I'd be a bad employee (I would've been!) but I felt they were a crap shop (they still are!).

1st post – be nice :)
I really need a dealer in the South. As an old but inexperienced player of a couple of years I now want to move up from my £300 axe to my 1st 'proper' guitar. I want 1 really good guitar rather than working my way through middle ranged stuff, (OK that’s how I justified the budget to the wife, I just want a great guitar that will let me play as well as I can).

I've been hankering for an EBMM since seeing a guy called Jamie Humphries with an Axis. Checked a few reviews and these things look like really good value for money, so I don’t understand more stores don’t stock them?

Anyway I’ve saved me pennies and now would like to try one or two before forking out £1500 or more. As already pointed out, no one has em in store- Southampton Music have 1 Luke, no one seems to have an Axis SS south of Birmingham. Anyone with intelligence of an EBMM dealer with a half decent range – please let us know

Thanks

Trev

Is there a good dealer near me? Well there's a GC here in town, and then there's my store. Keep in mind that I didn't say either was "good" or "bad" :p

Feel free to shoot me an email so I don't make a total trainwreck out of this thread. [email protected]

Welcome to the forum JokerZero.

I'm in the luxurious position of having one of my local music stores as an EBMM dealer, he even has a certificate to prove it up in the store. He is at the Oxford Guitar Gallery which is certainly south of Birmingham.

Currently I'm pretty sure he has the following:

Y2D Tobacco Sunburst,
"Luke Blue" Luke II
Pearl Redburst Pet
Grey Sub1 HH trem
and last but not least...a second hand but mighty fine Hardtail Axis Supersport w/ humbuckers in Trans Gold. I'm not giving it all away but it was priced under £1000!

I also know that in January Sound Control in London had 1 Teal Pearl and 1 Buttercream Luke II along with a few subs.

Now...go get em! And if any of you visit Oxford and make a purchase tell 'em Cliff gave you the tip.

Hope that helps.

Thank you and good night. :D

Oh yeah...there is a PMT here too but the guys there aren't very helpful and they only ever seem to have the odd Sub bass and nothing else EBMM related...well strings.

Andrertons dont have a single EBMM guitar in stock.
I know, Guildfords only 20 miles but - when I called Andertons and asked if they had any Axis SS in stock, the guy even had to look Musicman up on his stock system before asking me if I wanted a sub bass, which they could order.

Great store! - Looks like a longish drive upto Oxford is on the cards. :D

Do a google search on Cardiff Guitars.
I got my AL from him and he's a great guy to deal with.
He has a fully loaded Pet in stock. Wave the folding stuff in front of him (not the plastic stuff) and I'm sure he will do you a good deal.
I just ordered an AER amp from him too - local businessman, doing a great job.
My mate bought an OLP Axis from him - set up really nice, he says bring it back in the summer and I'll do a free check up on it and make sure everything is "tickerty boo".
I have no connection with this company but would like to recommend him to any of our UK "readers".
Hell come down to Cardiff and make a weekend of it!!!

Do you all notice that I'm keeping quiet on this one ;)

At least the Y2D is getting reviews (good ones of course) in magazines over here.

Beth - what is the minimum stock level then? somewhere between 0 and 1?

Dave

P.S. Seeing as Deep Purple were playing in London last month it wouldnt be beyond the realms of possibility to have a Morse clinic to promote the new model would it?

P.P.S This isnt meant to sound arsey - very much tongue in cheek

For keeping quiet Dave, you sure are making quite a squeak.

Deep Purple's schedule didn't allow for a clinic in this turn around London. That was the very first day of the show, the band had rehearsal, sound checks, jetlag, etc. We asked for a clinic, but it wasn't possible.

I went into Andertons music shop in Guildford. I was told that they do sell EBMM but don't keep them in stock. They explined the reason for this was because there are soooo many different models and so many different options for those models that it would be difficult to get the correct ones in stock. So you have to get them ordered in especially.

Come on Beth for me that is being quiet!

You know Deep Purple are headlining the Monsters of Rock gig in June in Milton Keynes. Can Steve come to my house and show me stuff then? I promise to drive him the 35 miles up to the gig.

:)

Seriously though - is a clinic on the cards?

Hmm, I am sure Andertons is an excellent store - it's certainly sucessful.
Bottom line is they only stock what is demanded - we need to keep on asking.

I bet they have rows of Strats and LPs with many, many versions of what are basically 2 body shapes. EB would need what 6 to cover one example of the basic models (Axis, Luke, Silo, Morse, Lee, Pet)

OK 7 with a nice Y2D - speak nicley to strings and things I bet they could put those in store for 10K trade to cover the finest the USA has to offer.

Sounds like a bargin to me :D

I think EB should ask us to take some samples of the above down to Guildford and dem them at Andertons to generate interest :)
