That gouge by the switch reall bothers me.
Besides, the top is pretty fugly IMO.
I'l probably pass on this one.

My gut tells me that these guitars are best left alone anyway.

getting that restored is not going to give it more quilt. But it will still sound awesome either way. I'd say leave it.

Man, after looking at tons of photos of Balls over the past few weeks, I didn't think I'd ever find an ugly one, but I gotta say, that one's pretty ugly. Considering what it would probably cost to get that one, I think I'd pass and just go for a nice Axis.

damn cool guitar, I still remember how good its sound on 'judgementday' song!!

just like everyone else I probably would leave it that way though.

Id just leave it the way it is. The total cost to buy, then refurbish, you would likely be better off just finding one you like. Probably one of the weakest quilts I have ever seen on an EVH .........................

Ewww...looks like a rake dragged through the mud....very odd grain. I wonder if there's a story behind that top? Man, just hold out for a nice axis.
