Can anyone tell me how Musicman guitars are intonated before they leave the factory? What sort of process goes on? Are all models intonated alike or is each individual instrument treated differently. My interest is this, I have many EBMM guitars and have never had an intonation problem, but I have a luke II that is proving to be somewhat of a challenge. The c# note within an A chord is considerably sharp yet when I play an E or a D chord everything sounds great. This is also the case whien I play barre chords using the same shapes. This smells like your typical Buzz Feiten case but is it? as all of my other EBMM guitars are the same scale length. I believe all EBMM guitars in the near future will come with a compensated nut, is this why?
I am considering buying a Peterson VS-II tuner and trying both the preset tempered tunings and also applying the BFTS offsets to this Luke II without actually having the guitar "Feitenized" as my next step. Has anybody got any experience of either of these two scenario's?

It's been my experience that none of my guitars, which include fenders, gibson and proudly a Luke and Steve Morse among others have never ever been intonated properly from the factory. I bought a Peterson VS a while back and I couldn't be happier considering the years of tuning frustration because: a) these things didn't exist or.. b)I just could never afford one.
I suspect that considering the fact that it does take a while to properly intonate to ones satisfaction <a tweak here, a tweak there...ahhhh just right> and time IS money, manufacturers probably don't do more than screw the saddles real quick and ship them out.

Speaking of compensated nuts (no jokes please..), Jon, any news on when they might touch down. AND..is a retrofit a semi-major job? (I understand the nut slot would require widening?)
