Phatty,

did you 'hit' all the wall studs when mounting those string swings?
. . . did you use any of the drywall anchors?

I just hung 5 swings and had to use a couple of those anchors
. . . . makes me a little nervous

Nice collection!!

I would be uncomfortable myself not hitting studs...

And I would NOT trust those drywall anchors.
That's the only thing that would worry me about hanging my basses on the wall... I'd never forgive myself if one of the came crashing down!

(Is still trying to think of response to Stanky's challenge...) :p

That does raise an interesting question about whether we see our instruments as female - like ships are always 'she'.....thoughts?:)
I can't decide if my bass is a 'he' or a 'she' - consequently it has no name as yet...

I love the name of your Blue Dawn, it reminds of a guy I know who usually asks me for football advice.....

LoL good question...

all my basses are named after an actress or a character they play on tv or a movie. 2 exceptions: the 30th Ray is simply known as Red and the beater is Cliff

So let's have the last names then!!!

Please don't tell me that Cliff is named after NorM!!!

Great collection phatduckk - was your new place chosen for its wall-displaying abilities? :D

Careful you don't lose valuable playing time by standing back and admiring them all like that! :D

actually the whole building is like a cabin... all the walls are redwood. It was super depressing in there with the dark colored walls so i put drywall over all the redwood to make painting it white easier (didnt need to prep the wood that way)... so i can hang stuff anywhere and not worry about studs.

he he. na the place is pretty cool. i bought a house with my parents cuz houses in teh bay area are way too expensive... so we went in together. my cottage is a seperate 700 sq ft bulding in the backyard. its about 50 ft away from the main house. my family lives in the main house and i live out in the cottage thing.

the wall factor is kindof annying actually. I have no corners... so i dunno where to put my desk. the living room has windows as the "front" wall, what you see as the back wall, a built in shelf as the wall to the left and on the right there's a fireplace and a door to the bedroom. so ya, no available corner for a desk but its doable

oh they get plenty of use. i play my jp6 A LOT. i got a new amp the other day for home use. one of those little vox things. im not usually a fan of amp emulation stuff but the vox is nice and petty cheap.
