EBMM finish department

Standing in the BFR Booooooutique at the bash, drooling all over my shoes, it struck me that the amazing finishes on EBMM basses really remind me of well-done custom car paint jobs.

Since BP is a car guy, it struck me that when hiring talent for the finish department, perhaps EBMM looked to the custom car/bike industry.

Also, it occurs to me that custom car paint jobs might be the inspiration for some of the EBMM finishes.

Do either of these ideas have any validity?

You know, I believe you're right. I saw a Nissan Murano the other day in what could only be Copperhead Bronze. Seriously.

Yeah, I'm quite sure I've seen Desert Gold cars. And stuff similar to the color-changing Mystic Dream paint.

Of course, up here in the drab Northeast we don't get as much of that stuff as there must be in Cali. Most cars here are silver.

my favorite one liner was from when Ken "Survivor Man/Jeep Tour Guide" was explaining some of the local plant life he caught a glimpse of adouglas off inbetween to bushes rummaging for some more plant seeds/fruit(whatever you call it) and he looks at his partner and says....."If he gets bit by a rattler I'm not cutting and sucking....Im just shooting him and leaving him here" Ken was hillarious!!

I was in the forestry program in college, so I'm always scratching, sniffing and tasting things.

Freaks people out... around here there are ornamental bushes called Canadian Yews. Every fall they produce little red berries open at one end, which have the consistency of snot or egg yolks if you crush them. Everyone "knows" that these are poisonous, but in fact it's only the seeds...the berries are really delicious. So I'll pop a few in and spit the seeds out. It's great to see people react.

When we did the bongo we hired BMW designworks to do a color pallate for us that included rolls burgandy desert gold lava pearl graphite etc

This year we hired a girl that is way into colors and did the new nissan line as a consultant that 6 string bongo is one of her colors.....

Seems to me that....

Lava Pearl ==> Pearl Blue
Desert Gold ==> new blue

Anyone else think that?

In my opinion Graphite Pearl is a limited edition color. It looks great and not that many are seen around the world and should be.

But then again who cares what I think?
