Butch...how did you record the stuff on your myspce site? Nice playing...nice tones! How does the SM-Y2D compare to the axis?

I'll see what I can do to help you get up and running with some software and affordable hardware,

Ok, I'm back. If you want me to record some keyboards, send me an mp3 asap because today I'm selling my keyboard and I'm gonna be keyboardless for a couple of days (until I buy a new one).
I'm not much of a keyboardist anyway, but I can do some simple chordal stuff and some simple riffs and fills.

I can lay down some rhythm guitar tracks as well if you want me to.

Thanks! On those, I was at a small studio owned my a friend of mine.

Shhh.... That's an OLP and there is no comparison. While the OLP was nice for the price, it's like comparing a Ruth Chris filet mignon to a McDonalds burger.

Wow, thanks!!!

great track but, we need some with OPEN soloing~do we even want bass included ?or are we leaving that open for our string envious bro's?I have some drums as well I'm trying to put some together they may be a little HEAVIER than your trax so I'm not sure if they will be as mainstream?~I have a little over 2 minutes and only a few bars full of guitar and bass throughout it's a "free to do" sorta' thing but maybe TOO free?I'll try to post later today. How do you upload these mp3's if they aren't a valid uploadable file for ebmm's forumsite?I gotta' link them from somewhere who should I use?

Drum Track

Okay guys, here is a clean drum track...it's an open canvas for whoever wants to come up with a chord progression, riff, bass line, etc. I have the ability to go back and add fills or cymbal hits or alter patterns later.

I can email it anyone who wants it...I don't think there's a way to post it on the forum without putting it on a website. I can do that, but it's time consuming.

I got no responses at all from the bass forum....but I can play bass.

Let's go!

-Jb

you can call me if you have any questions or need technical assistance....send me a PM or email me at [email protected]

I'm a little bit lost still yet, but I'll get the hang of it. I don't think I have any of this software, so I'll probably just use headphones, record and export as MP3 and maybe email someone, if that's ok?

what software do you have? Do you have a way to import the drum track into anything and record a track along with it?

I have Magix music maker. If you send me a MP3, I can import, record, then export it as an MP3 back to you. One warning, my mic kinda sucks, but it sounds fine as long as I'm not doing any distorted rythem stuff. I'm the new guy here :p

Here's what I came up with:
funk.mp3

I would've recorded the bass part too, but my bass guitar is currently at my bassist's place. So, if anybody wants to record the bass, feel free to do so. If not, I'll have my bass back in a few days, so I can record it.
My idea is that everybody plays a solo over one cycle (if the backing track won't be long enough for everybody, I can just paste a few more cycles easily)

Very nice, sir....why don't you solo over the first cycle, and I'll solo over the second....I'm assuming by cycle, you mean the thing in Em, the change from Am to Dm up to the little run that brings it back to the Em riff, correct?

in the meantime, someone find someone else to do the bass line...maybe even BP?!?

He's probably too busy to play with us, but it would be cool. (is that psychology working?)

Correct!
It's almost 11 PM here, so I won't be recording anything today anymore.
You can do the first one and I'll record something tommorow morning.

okay...should I start coming right out of the gate, or let it play around once?
i guess we should have clicked it off first (i can actually add that in if we need to)

I forgot about the time difference....good night. You'll get a good laugh when you hear my lame playing tomorrow!
