Hi fellow forumites,

I happen to have lost the soul connection to my Les Paul Goldtop recently and am seriously considering to sell it in order to get myself my second EBMM geetar.

Since I am doing mostly cover stuff with my band that also requires some acoustic sounds from time to time, I was thinking to get myself a model with a piezo system.

I used to have a Parker Fly ten years ago for the same reason.
The 'acoustic' sound was but I was not happy with the electric sound so I got rid of it after a year or so

What EBMM model would you recommend?

Since I already own a Luke, I have a slight tendency towards the Luke, but I would like to hear your points of view, please!

Thanks in advance to all of you!!!

They all have the same piezo system. The rest is a matter of playing them I'd think as far as knowing which one would suite you.

I think you should go with an axis supersport with MM90's and the piezo hard tail. A black cherry burst with maple neck and matching headstock.....YUM.....and if you don't absolutely love it, you can send it to me.

I really like the piezo switching system on the SiLO. All it is is the volume knob. The AL is the same way. On things like the Axis SS or the 20th SiLO I just leave it in the middle (Mags and Piezo on) and just use the volume knob.

Umm... all of them:confused:

It all depends upon how you run the piezo. I currently use a stereo cable to splitter to two EB volume pedals. One for the acoustic and one for the electric. I keep both the piezo and mag on at all times and adjust with the mix with the volume pedals. I'm gonna get around to getting a EB pan pedal an play with that in front of the the two volume pedals and see how that works for the quick change stuff.

I run the piezo through a Yamaha AG Stomp before the DI to the board. IMHO the AG is well worth the money for your application.

LOVE the AG stomp. LOVE it. direct to board or powered wedge. Kills ANY acoustic amp.
Hard to argue with a petrucci avec PIEZO. blends two extreme tones well.

I like the idea with the two volume pedals!
And that's a nice rig you got there...

I will check on the AG Stomp, could be a nice enhancement, thanks for the hint from the couch :)

I like the ones as NorM said, with volume knob only. Which means Silos and AL's get my vote!

Oops, it must have skipped my attention that AL's have the piezo option as well...

Being a Strat guy and considering the fact that I would be using the piezo mainly in a Pop- & Country Rock context, the AL could be an option - although I prefer rosewood for the fingerboard.

How does the AL neck compare to a Silo Special neck?

Then get yourself an 08LE AL - looks like RW board will be an option, from what I have read.

I have the 150 with an extra 2x12 johnson cab. When it quits working I don't know what I will do. To me these amps are the ultimate and I don't know of anything that is comparable with them.

But since this thread is about piezos; I run the piezo through my PA with a little chorus reverb added from the board.
