I know Ernie Ball bought the Musicman company from Leo Fender. So there is a historical connection back to the first electric guitars of the fifties. But on what date in 1986 did the first EBMM guitar/bass become available to buy by the public? Also when is the 25th anniversary guitar going on sale?2011?

Also may I suggest you read Mr. Sterling Ball's blog, he gives a lot of insight in the chronological history of the MM to EBMM transition, and there's more on their website too on this link as suggested above by the right honorable forum member before me. :D

Marantz....I almost scrapped the 25th project.....then I read my own wiki ( actually I didnt as it is still inaccurate) WE made the first instrument in 1984.....that makes 2009 25 big ones.

Don't scrape it. Thats a very cool guitar.Being one of the few family owned, u.s. guitar builders is VERY cool. It rubs off on us EBMM owners. Shows impeccable good taste.
