Help! Ebmm jp6

I sold my Ibanez guitars so I can't even remember 100%, but if memory serves me correctly, the JP is thinner (from fretboard to the palm of your hand) than the wizard necks, but perhaps wider from the 1st string to the 6th string.

The biggest difference in feel is probably the fretboard radius. I think the JP radius is 'straighter' or 'flatter' than the wizard.
 
I have a feeling you would be much happier with a Silo or a silo special if you dont like thin necks. You can still order a piezo bridge, the vintage trem is incredible and you can always put a liquid fire and crunch lab in the guitar if you really want too. This would be my suggestion to you sir.

What ever ball you go with it will be great

I have that feeling too. Been looking at JP model and i thought hmm it looks like silo.

Is the silo model always come with HSH pickup combination?

I had previous an Ibanez S 470 - wizard II neck
It seems to me JP neck is very very similar, only at nut JP is 43 mm/ wizard II Ibanez - 42 mm
I feel the Ibanez wizard and JP necks more comfortable then strats , which are too rounded for me but that is a preference aspect for sure :)

I ended up selling my JP because the neck was too wide and thin - I'm a Strat guy too you see. The JP neck is very similar to the Ibanez Wizard, it just has slightly rounder shoulders. Both necks sport 43mm nuts BTW.

The normal Silhouette is 24 frets and HSH configuration only.

The Silhouette Special is 22 frets, and comes in HSS and SSS configurations.

The Silhouette Gold Roller is 24 frets and HH configuration only.
 
That and you could very easily change the pickguard to HH with a three way toggle ala the JP6 , The Silo is very customisable,

Saying all this when I first bought mine I thought I would have no use for the middle coil but I was very wrong, the position 2 and 4 are amazing for cleans and funk, so i would try it before you go changing.

What about a 25th?

The neck shape is based on the Silhouette and is extremely comfortable. It's a little wider than a Silo, but nice. And it's not as flat as a JP. Nice C shape to it. The switching options will offer both 'bucker and single-coily tone options. The chambering adds resonance and the mahogany tone block adds what I call "mojo" to the tone. The body is more comfortable than an Axis or ASS due to the contours. It's 22 frets. You can get it with a trem or hardtail. The trem is akin to a Strat, but WAY more stable. It has the same oil & wax finish as the other maple necked EBMM guitars which makes it super smooth and comfortable to the touch.

Overall, the 25th is the epitome of a great guitar (to me at least) and I think it would be easy to switch between a Strat and a 25th.

I had a S470 as well, and would agree that the neck is somewhat similar in profile to the JP. That being said, I get on much better with the 'C' shaped Silhouette necks.

Either way, JP or Silo or other, EBMM makes the best guitar necks IMO.

How good are the pickups in silo? they're dimarzios right?

I play hard-rock, metal kinda music. Do i need to swap the pickups later?

What are the pros and cons for vintage and floating tremolo?

The DiMarzios in the Silo kick all kinds of hiney - really clear and defined... yet chunky enough to rock. In my book the Silo is a much more tonally flexible package than the JP - it is my fave EBMM.

With regards to the trem, the main difference is that the trem on the JP is recessed, wheras the Silo can be set flush to the body. I have not experienced any difference between the two regarding tuning stability, but the JP trem offers a more comfortable area to rest you picking hand.

P.s.: 10-46 is absolutely not a heavy string gauge and the Silo will handle any gauge youthrow at it just fine.
 
Anymore opinion on the tremolo and tuning stability?

Also, I know the strat us std neck width is 42.8mm and the silo is 41.3 mm. Would the ‘feel’ still be the same? (stoopid question really:P)

Just saw Jammy Humphries on youtube using silo. Man he’s awesome!!
