Help! EBMM JP7 Coil-Tap vs. New pickups

Hey guys. I am sort of caught between either coil-tapping my JP7 or installing new bridge pickups (really dont like the CrunchLab). Basically I want a slightly less "hot" sound from my pickups for rock instead of metal.

Any advice?

BKP blackdog or emerald would be awesome for the bridge. I put blackhawks in my JP7.

Dimarzio PAF 36th Anniversary is awesome for the sound you're going for. I would also give the Dominion bridge as well, great pickups.

I believe doing a coil tap would be a too drastically mod as it won't sound like a hum bucker at all. Parallel might be a little better, and maybe worth considering?

BKP sounds nice, but would cost a fortune import it here (I'm from South Africa). Any Dimarzio or Seymour Duncan recommendations instead?

Is the PAF36th anniversary available for 7 string guitars? If not, is the PAF 7 essentially the same thing?

Anybody have any feedback about the Air Norton 7 DiMarzios?

The Air Norton is a fantastic neck pickup, I only didn't suggest it because you said you were only getting a bridge pickup. The PAF 7 has more output and is very nice and textured if that makes sense, really nice sounding pickup with a lot of expression to it.

The PAF 36th is a little more toned down but still very usable for many styles of music

Very nice sound! Think the PAF 7 is at the top of my list now
