Cool, thanks for approving my pics post beej!

I tried to get the best pics I could to show off the sparkle, and the blue-ish tint to it. Man, I love the finish on this thing!

I have a couple more questions, if I may:

I thought read somewhere that it's ok to leave the trem bar in the guitar inside the case. Is this really true? I noticed when I close the lid on the case, it does contact the bar and pushes it down.

Second question: is there anyone out there that owns a JP model and a AL HH or Axis? I was curious as to how different the pickups are, as well as how different the necks are. If you had to equate the neck and pickups on the AL HH, what would be the closest thing you could describe?

Thanks guys!

This pic here reminds me of the one where Anakin Skywalker is standing in front of the wall as a child, and the shadow that is cast is his later self, that which is the profile of Darth Vader. Nice looking axe there!

LOL, Dr.Strangenote! I could have sworn I heard it say to me... "What Is Thy Bidding, My Master?" :D

John C, good to see another KC person here! What part of town? I'm in the Northland.

I've been in the KC area since Janaury; my wife joined me in late March so we're still "newbies". While I work in downtown KC we landed down in the Overland Park/Olathe area.

Looks like quite a contingency building in the KC metro area...I'm located in Lees Summit. Hawk...you've definitely picked up a great guitar and yes indeed the "Top Sucks"! I myself have retained the EBMM sickness and am now the owner of six EBMM guitars, Although I've not updated my sig in quite sometime.

They are all great masterpieces, each with its own subtle nuances. Quality is excellent and EBMM CS is fantastic!

Welcome!

Yes, you can leave the bar intact with a standard EBMM case, the BFR cases do not seem to have the trem bar cutout. I always took the bar out of all of my BFR's, my loaded JP6's I keep them in.

The JP necks are more thin than the Axis and the AL. The pickups are totally different! I couldn't equate pickups from an AL, because I never owned one of those (yet), but have played and love the AL immensely!

There is a lingering thread out there on the neck comparisons. I believe the JP, AL and Axis are covered in there with dimensions, etc.

Oops; I missed that question in the thread. I don't own a JP as the original neck was too thin and flat for me (so I know the neck on the JPXI and JP12 likely wouldn't work either) but I do currently own an AL HH. The neck is a nice rounded C - think late 60s/early 70s Tele and you've got a good idea. I did briefly have an Axis SS and the AL neck is just a bit thicker than the Axis neck; in fact I would say that the AL neck is about the fattest EBMM neck up at the first fret. Of course, EBMM necks are generally the smallest neck you can find on any guitar brand, so the AL being the "fattest" would put it's 1st fret depth at somewhere between .820 and .830. The AL HH I have now has a slightly thinner in depth neck than the other AL I had back in 2006, but it is thicker in depth than any of the three Silo Specials that I owned in previous years.

Pickups are the same as the Axis - I can't compare my AL HH tone wise to the Axis SS I had because the Axis was an MM90 model. I am fairly certain that these custom DiMarzios in the Axis/AL HH/Reflex are much lower output pickups than the JP pickups.
