I just cannot get excited about black/white/vintage sunburst. Give us some real colour options, please.

Solid colours work nicely on the reflex, and personally I dig the white one. But still a big YES to more and more vivid colour options.

Retro/Classic/Roadwhatever is all well, but can we return to this century again? Please? :)

way to classy up the place. good job.

Sorry, but with only 10 posts and 1/3 of them whining about color options including starting a thread to whine about color options...not too classy either. We get it. He doesn't like the current color options. Summer NAMM is next month. AFAIK the Reflex hasn't even been launched officially, so it's a little premature to start complaining about colors. Thanks to BP, we are often privileged here to see glimpses of product before it launches and we've all seen how frustrating it is for him when people start throwing jabs without even having seen the whole picture.

So how about that Reflex...probably my next bass. Absolutely stunning...even if it only comes in Black, White, and Vintage Burst.:D

PS: Please stop complaining about color options and for you old-timers, if you don't respond, it dies on the vine. Okay?

Daaaaaaang.

I knew those were going to look good in solid colors.

I prefer solid colored basses because from a distance, the shape is more distinct.

The Relex looks great in black or white.

I like the black and the sunburst in the pictures so far. I wasn't sure how it would look in solid colours, but now that I've seen a few, I think they will look very good (maybe even nicer than Venetian Red ;) ).

Definitely not my thing. While the 30th Anniversary bass had somerhing (due to its finish), this one reminds me too much of the G** A**t bass. But I'll certainly have look at it once it reaches home turf. I mean, also the Bongo got me once I played it ...

Looks like... is... looks like! Not sounds like or, feels like, all due respect, I wish people would quit dissing an instrument on the basis that it looks like something else. At the end of the day it is really like comparing apples and pears.

Find me and Aria, Ibanez, Jackson, Charvel, Peavey, Carvin etc etc bass that doesn't look like a Fender, for goodness's sake! After all they all are descendent of one look or another.

Yet I challenge anyone to hold, play and feel a 25th Anniversary bass or its decendent, "The Reflex" and not coming away thinking like they have tried the best instrument that ever existed.

I give you an example: my mother was over for a short visit, she hasn't been over here in years, she used to study and play classical piano up to 15+ years ago, I showed her my recent basses, like the Bongo and the 25th, when I played my 25th to her, not knowing much about basses or guitars, the first thing she had to say about it was: "wow that thing sounds more like a church organ than your average boomy bass thing!" Even though she believes I still suck technically speaking, I was touched by the comment.

And that for me meant a lot. You really can get some sounds from these basses never before experienced with any other EBMM or "look-alikes"

Rant over :D

Wazoo.......you are totally wrong. I did this with a 25th, a Big Al, a Bongo and a Classic 'Ray - and I much preferred the Classic 'Ray, but then that's me and my preferences - I agree the 25th is a really nice bass though.

For me, the Reflex will have to wait it's turn in the queue behind the Classic 'Ray and Bongo....................BUT that sunburst Reflex looks gorgeous so that may well be the next one in line (assuming I don't end up all Bongoloid and have to get multiple Bongos - tell me that's NOT possible guys :D).............hmmmmm

In all seriousness, Reflex in pacific blue burst or trans red - beautiful I'd think. I'm v happy with the colours shown so far, most especially the sunburst.

Thanks EBMM you're doing a great job.

You guys are excellent entertainment. This is like the 2 band vs 3 band or the Sterling vs Stingray or the Bongo vs Big Al discussions.

You can't be completely right and you can't be completely wrong, can you?

Because it's opinion.

Hi Jack

You guys are excellent entertainment.

Well having just read the Big Al thread there's quite a lot of entertainment at the moment! Seriously, it was meant to be tongue in cheek ;)

Because it's opinion.

+1 entirely

I am warming to the idea of the Reflex being my next bass (after delivery of my Classic)

(buying a Bongo will almost certainly lead to an irresistable desire to have several of them, to the detriment of my personal finances).
