My Sterling is neither quiet, nor unassuming. It gets noticed every time I play it and people are ALWAYS telling me how good it looks and how good it sounds. I love the bass because of the feel of the body. It reminds me of a Corvette or a Camaro. Sleek. Compact. Sexy.

I don't love my Bongo or my Stingray any less. It's just that the Sterling brings a different vibe to the table -- especially the HS configuration. If I had to pick one bass to recommend to a lifetime "Non-EBMM" player", this would probably be the one. It's got the EBMM sonic character but it's also got enough "other" tones to allow an EBMM Newbie to find some familiar territory.

Its not as "iconic" as the Stingray, nor is it as unique as the Bongo/Big Al/Reflex. As a matter of fact, it may be the most "conventional" looking of all the EBMM basses.

That said, it's still a killer instrument.

I can't resist posting my favorite shot of Babe. I'm currently enjoying a fling with flatwounds on her, and I must say it is a whole new experience. :)

Erin - That must be quite rare - v nice bass by the way.

Petch, that blue is great - is it carbon blue pearl or electric blue (I hope we aren't going to be in trouble for talking about blue basses............. )

I never asked. for an official word, but i think it may be 1 of 2.. i picked it up for a steal on ebay a couple of years ago. I think i maybe payed $750... the lady that sold it to me didn't know what she had.

Babe is blue pearl. It's all about the lighting with that color; it looks fabulous in the right light. :)

Nice score - I've only ever seen that colour on an SR5 or Ray.

Erin...so sweeet dude! How does it sound with the WA Scout ?:)
LOVE my Scout.

Its Great.. Its actually the only bass amp i have anymore. The other ones became to much to haul around. And i have never had a need for more. Sound guys dig it and so do the people that haul my gear around for me.
