I got a sweet deal on an open box EBMM Sterling Ray 34 bass from MF. It was mint, still had all the plastic on the tuners. First time I plugged it in I got that hum you get. It only happens when I touch the knobs to adjust tone or volume. It's a horrible sound, but as soon as I play it sounds great. Also worth noting, this thing drains batteries like crazy. I have mostly left it hanging as I have 6 other basses to play but I really want to play this one sometimes (that's why I bought it). I'm a do it yourselfer so I just need some advice on what or where I might find the issue. Thank you!

its the sub par preamp they put in those. swap it out and the hum will disappear
