This may be a stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway! :D

I just picked up an Axis SS with piezo and it already has a tremol-no installed. The guitar had 9s on it, but I typically am a 10s or 11s kind of guy. I have a non-piezo Axis SS with 10s that I love the feel of, so I figured I'd bump up to 10s.

I put on a set of 10s and it turns out there are only two trem springs in the guitar currently (yeah, I know. I should have noted that before changing gauges), so it's floating ridiculously high and I don't seem to have enough play in the trem claw adjustment with only two trem springs to get it back down to a more normal flating point. My other Axis SS actually has 4 trem springs, but I have it set up non-floating and so the trem won't budge when I string bend. I figure with the tremol-no, I can let the new guitar trem float a bit and lock down the tremol-no when I want it to behave like a stoptail. I figure that 3 springs should be just right for that.

My question is this: Are the trem springs in EBMM guitars just standard trem springs that I can get from allparts or my local music store, or do I need to order special trem springs from EB?

Thanks!

Leigh.
