EBMM truss rods, question

I wanted to go through a topic that has been discussed many times and is a little vauge.

I wanted to know the truss rod that EBMM offers in its AXIS model guitars.
I had enquired about this and EBMM customer service told me that a single rod is used.

Also it was stated that the rod used was a bit larger than traditional rods. Is this correct?
Is the rod a one way rod found in vintage instruments?

What is the reason tonally that EBMM uses this rod especially considering that the necks are unfinished? I have always marveled in the craftsmanship that EBMM has in this area. Their necks are amazing. So how do they do it with a one way traditional rod and no finish? Is the rod really larger contributing to the extra strength or does EBMM just make the neck properly so the neck doesn’t need a two way rod?

There are many factors in our truss rod that help the neck. First off its geometry is such that it works the whole neck...with some older vintage guitars the rod basically stopped at about the 14th fret ours works the whole neck.

WE have been doing a lot of r and d on the rod and have recently come up with some crazy great things that I may patent....

So Poppa, does this make the rod heavier and larger??
I though that a larger rod is a no no as far as tone is considered?
Most people shun at single dual action rods and want the lighter vintage ones. Not the case here?

I must say however that the ebmm necks feel more like necks with dual action rods and also sound like them. They are snappier like dual rod necks are.
