Ebony Tones

I'm interested in any comments people would like to make on how the tone of a DDII is compared to a comparable model with maple and/or rosewood neck. Can you tell a difference? I'm thinking of an SR SLO H or a Bongo H and I wonder how the ebony fretboard affects the tone.

i remember someone once posted sound clips of a sterling with maple and rosewood necks swapped on, there was a small difference and everyone guessed correctly, so concievably there could be a small difference, but nothing particularly striking that you couldn't achieve with EQing really.
