First, thanks Lefty for shooting me the pdf's.

Ok, looking at how an HSS SS is wired, I'm both amazed and surprised. Both the same, I guess.

It sure looks to me like the positions 2,3,4 all have parallel but I'm assuming out of phase dual coils. Then 1 is the hum and 5 is the neck pu alone but with the silent circuit.

So.....can anyone 'splain to me what each color wire on the silent circuit is? And on the diagram, it is shown going to the neck pickup.....but which terminal? Note that the ground side is not shown, so ......

I will likely indeed do something different and interesting. I'm already using a different 5 way switch and intend to coil split the hum.
