Besides having an addiction to EBMM does anyone here also have an addiction to effects pedals? I love collecting different ones especially different overdrive pedals. I just bought the way huge overrated special from the bonamassa website. The video of Joe playing it sounded great so I bought one.

my favorites at the moment are the Wampler Paisley, the Mesa Flux Drive and the Keeley Katana Mini Boost... (and of course my trusty EB WAH and EB VP Junior [modded with buffer])

Actually not really. In fact I am horrible at selling off anything I am not using - sometimes at a costly fault. That said, over the past 2-3 years or so I have gone thru a bunch to get a pedalboard I am really delighted with with the material I play in the band (along with my my amp the Mesa Electra-Dyne). I have a few extra's on a spare board (MI Audio Crunchbox, RetroSonic Phaser and Boss DD20) and that's about it.

I love me some pedals too. I'm currently experimenting with a micro board for easy transport; my other board is a PT Pro.

I think I'm eventually going to take the Vox Time Machine & Carbon Copy off this board and replace it with a TC Flashback; the Line6 reverb will probably get replaced with a TC HOF Mini. I'd also like to replace the Xotic BB with one of the Ibanez Mini Tubescreamers, add a Wampler Tumnus, replace the Boss TU-3 with a TC Polytune Mini, and get one of the Dunlop mini-volume pedals whenever they come out.

Yes, I love pedals.

I don't know where to get started I was thinking about getting a Mini Crybaby and a pedal board for the near future. My question is which pedals are good for funk, 60's and 70's soul?

I did until I bought the Fulltone OCD pedal.... It's easily my favorite Overdrive pedal of all time. I sold my tube amp over a year ago and yet I refuse to let this pedal, my wah and my EB volume go.

CryBaby, a medium level crunch distortion such as EHX Soul food, a Phaser is a must! The rest is then how to play the music. Maybe an auto-wah if you want to get into Funkadelic direction... And a fuzz such as Muff Fuzz or Fuzzface if you want to do Ernie Isley solos.

I was doing pedal reviews online for a year or so. I was getting free pedals like crazy. In the end, I just couldn't get subscribers, so I pulled the plug. It just wasn't worth the time it took to shoot the videos and edit them. I still have some great pedals from doing it though.

I just like having the option to switch them on and off my board. I also really like all the bonamassa pedals, I bought the original copper fuzz face and wah when they came out and also the original mxr FET driver.

It always been to me a less expensive way to change your tone.

The soul food is a great pedal.

I've owned more over the years than I care to admit, but I'm nowhere near as bad as some other friends of mine. Some of the pedal board rigs on the gear page etc, easily approach or exceed the cost of a new Gibson R9.

Currently I'm down to 3-4. I really dig the Strymon El Cap and Flint. So many great sounds living inside those pedals, and so easy to conjure them up on the fly. I also use either a Mesa V1 Bottle rocket or an Analogman TS808. Sometimes both, but not too often.

I'm currently running (for that particular brown sound) an MXR 5150 Overdrive. I found it to lack the high gain, but has good tonal qualities, so I now have it being fed by the "1" pedal by Mad Professor which gives me that front end high gain I was missing as well as serious reverb.

This is all running into a JVM 410H.

Really interested in getting the Slide rig made by Origin effects a great little UK company.

It gets you to the realms of the tones first heard on Little Feat’s classic album, "Dixie Chicken".

I use an EP booster, a custom built overdrive built by the Musicman Amplifier guru Ed Goforth, sometimes a flashback delay.

If I'm depping for a covers band I use my trusty Line 6 Pod XT and floorboard - kinda gets you playing in the ball park.

Yup I have too many pedals lying about - and will sell them off to help fund my car project- some oldish unusual od pedals too.
