Yes, i was aware of that, thanks for pointing that out. i talked to my tech about that, he suggested the same thing, cutting the tabs to fit.

I know that your EMGs are on the way, and no doubt they'll sound pretty killer regardless, but have you played SD Blackouts? I've got a set, great pickups as well.
how are they compared to EMG? I don't need a metal type high gain, but more in the high gain of Luke/VH type.

No problem man! Having extensive time with both EMG 81/85 and a set of blackouts, as far as I can tell, the Blackouts were a bit more organic- more tone coming from the pickup and less from the preamp. The EMGs were relentless under gain, and the Blackouts were a little more dynamic. The EMGs deliver that ultra compressed, high mid spike tone, where as I found the blackouts to be a little less compressed but still providing plenty of output.
My personal preference would be the Blackouts, but when push comes to shove, they're pretty similar pickups.

Deano (Dean Wells of Teramaze) has swapped all his bridge EMGs to Seymour Duncan SH-15. He sent me some sample clips. They sound HUGE and amazing. That's the way I'll be going that way.

I think I got a solution: I'll get both EMG and Blackouts. I actually do not like EMG unless they're modded to 18V, which will give them a more open organic sound, much better tone than 9V stock.
But I trust your taste in tone. I'll have to give the Blackouts a try.
