don't you think that the tone difference is coming from the roasted neck itself?


my last (before this) Luke was a piezo

the routing of magnetics pickups is not the same + saddles are differents
maybe is a possibility

for the battery i change it each time i receive a guitar even it was brand new and always the same type Duracell "plus"

3 possible explanations:

1) Ebony Fretboard

2) Roasted maple neck providing an increase in resonance

3) Check the string clearance to the pickup. Pickup may be closer on the new Luke.
