hi there,

Anybody had some first hand experience with this amp, head version especially? What cab where you running it through? What music were you playing and which MM?

Thanks in advance.

Well, I have an Engl Raider 100, which is basically the slightly bigger version. The tones are supposed to be the same on both amps, but mine has two separate EQ's. In a nutshell, I LOVE the amp. Had it about a year or so now. The quality is unreal and the distortion is just pure awesomeness.

I know that doesn't help with your exact question though.

Have been playing through a Marshall 1987x 50w head and a Marshall TV cab. Some of the best tones out there. Loudest 50W's I've ever heard.

Hi Stevie,

I am absolutely blown away with my Engl gear and am currently tracking my entire record with them. They are very versatile and sound KILLING. I am currently using an Invader 100 with a 2/12 Pro cab, and I have a Classic 50 head on the way. Though I haven't played thru a Screamer, I've heard great things about them. I don't think you can go wrong with the Screamer. I am considering getting the combo version.

DUDE, the Invader is the BEST amp. My friend bought one and we were almost in tears at how beautiful it sounded. If I ever needed a big amp, that is THE one. I envy you. :)

Thanks for the feedback so far.

At 50watts, do i have to get it above "bedroom sound" levels to get some great tones out of this beast? Or can it be tamed to be wife proof?

Hay mate. I also love my Engl. It's so well built. I find the sound very clear and note separation is amazing. At the moment I am running my Blackmore head through a pair of Marshall 4x12 at our studio. Killer. With the 50w.... Ithink you could tame it for the house!

Check out some vids on you tube

cheers
