so I'm sitting here in a hotel lobby getting ready to teach a workshop in the company of some heavyweights and feeling a bit like a fish out of water but getting psyched at the same time 'cause my workshop is all about love for the instrument, love for music, love for life, and letting that all come out......

then I see this thread and this pic BP and your intro to it..........

... having to really hold back from getting choked up looking at the young man in that photo and knowing the legacy that he's left and how millions of lives, mine included, have been influenced/affected/changed for the better by HIS love for the instrument, love of music, love for life!

very heavy moment here at the lobby in the Marriott..... THANK YOU ! ! !

life does kick ass and so do you BP! It is great to see you furthering what your dad started.

Love getting the history and visuals of all that your dad built over many years.

SIDE NOTE: I also got to see a really cool pic in Beth's office of ERNIE, BP, DUDLEY and a bunch of distibutors at a distributors meeting back in '99 I think she said.

3 years before I joined the company. :D

Very cool poppa, The picture below of Ernie, I saw in an airline mag about 17-18 years ago, there was an article on him, It wasn't in great detail but that picture (although it might seem silly) inspired me to go off and find out more about the man, which eventually brought me here, he effected more people than you know.

Thanks for sharing BP.

What style of Karate did he practice - I really miss my Karate!!

Oh I see in the Nov edition of Guitar and Bass magazine in their "100 greatest moments in guitar history", Ernie Ball was voted #54. Quote "What do you prefer 9's or 10's? ... a big round of applause to EB for allowing us to be able to make this kind of choice. In the early 60's EB came up with the idea of making strings in specific guages ... ... " end quote

and as they say, the rest is history!
