I'm from the UK, and when i purchased my EB Sterling last year, i was issued with an SKB bass case with it. At first I wasn't bothered about not getting the proper Musicman case with it, but now I really wish i'd asked about it. The shop I bought the bass from don't have any and neither do any other store in the UK (that sell the cases seperately), so i was wondering, could anyone at Ernie Ball hook me up with a case, or could anyone recommend any stores in the UK or USA, where i can purchase a Sterling bass case from.

Thank you,

Jack

Any EB dealer can order you a MM case.
THe SKB is almost identical IMO - w/o
the MUSICMAN embossing.

I feel like a kid who just moved into the neighborhood. I just registered for the Forum today because I have a Sterling on the way and I found this forum when I was doing some research on the new bass. I think I'll hang out here a lot now.

Here's my question...does anyone know if the Sterling will fit in a rectangular case made for a Fender P-Bass? The Sterling I have on the way is being shipped to me in a gig bag (no hard case). I see that some of the on-line stores carry a molded Music Man case, but I much prefer the tolex ones. I have an almost new Fender Tweed case for a P-Bass that is currently bassless. I'm hoping the Sterling will fit in there. If not, does anyone have a suggestion for finding a Music Man tolex case? Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome.
Your Sterling will definetly fit but the P-bass case may be too big.
My Sterling Tolex is much smaller than both my SR4 Tolex cases.
I believe Tolex MM cases were discontinued a few years back.
I'm lookin on ebay/etc for a tolex for my SR4 so I can part w/
el stinky one

EB Case

Almost any dealer in the US can get you a molded case. They'll charge an arm and a leg for the shipping to the UK though.

Try www.guitarcenter.com or www.basscentral.com. Some of the online dealers: www.musiciansfriend.com and www.music123.com should have them as well.

When all else fails you could go to the source...G&G Quality Case is the USA company that makes the tolex cases for Ernie Ball. They used to make Tolex ones for the Stingray and Sterling Basses. But they now only make them for the Limited Edition special orders from EB. So you may have to wait until they get an order. You might be able to convince them to make one for you during their next production.

But the other dudes are right..The SKB you have is a nice case. They make the molded ones for EB also.

Take care...Jazz

If you can swing it, go or the Music Man case---they are extremely well built and have the added benefit of being awesome looking, especially with Music Man pressed into the plastic. Heavy-duty clasps, too.

Jack- Email me..I have a molded MM sterling case that is just over 15 months old that I would be willing to part with. I personally prefer tolex, but would never buy one unless someone were to buy the current one I have. So I'd be willing to sell it to you. But I'd have to call G&G or locate a sterling tolex case. The case I have is in 99% perfect condition. Just a small blem on the front that is the size of a pea. That was there when I got the bass. Jazz/// :D
