Me and my singer/ Acoustic player both use ernie ball strings--
i use beefy and power slinky's and he uses earthwoods---
here in the last month we both have been breaking strings left and right...
both have broke 2-3 strings a night right after changing them--
we bot have played for 20+ yrs and know how to change strings;)--
there for we know ita not both of us at the same time--\

did ernieball change the way they make strings?--
this is turning out to be way expensive--
any idea of an alternative?
ernie ball is all ive ever used but now maybe its not what we need--
any ideas?

I had a similar issue many years ago and it was all about the guitar, not the strings.

Where they break will give you a clue. Over time, little grooves, edges or burrs develop on all the metal parts of a guitar that contact the strings, particularly the saddles and edges of tuner posts. Twenty minutes with a light needle file and sandpaper will fix that. Once I did that, and changed my strings more often (every 20 hrs playing time rather than 25-30 hrs) I literally went for years without breaking a string! (FWIW, once I figured that out, I did that sandpaper de-burring on my strat every six months. Of course I don't play it any more since I got my Silhouette Special...!).

Let us know how you get on!
