Wow!
I had an opportunity to buy a 1987 B.C. Rich Gunslinger with the snakeskin graphic and one EMG 81 for 400 bucks, so I got it.
I wanted to see what kind of information I could dig up on my guitar, and B.C. Rich guitars in general, so I thought I could get some good info at the B.C. Rich Forums. After all, a lot of intellegent and experienced people populate these forums, so I thought I would tap into the knowledge of the B.C. Rich posters.

Let me tell you something, it became obvious very quickly that these forums are for grown-ups, and the B.C. Rich forums are for the kids. I had to try to explain to a 16 year old kid who's screen name was "fetusofhell", that Van Halen doesn't suck.

I weep for the future of music.

Have to say that I really like this forum. Despite a wealth of knowledge and experience, it isn't anywhere near as forboding as Jemsite (where I read but never post) or as immature as practically anything else out there.

It's a credit to EB and, to be honest, adds to the whole ownership experience....*cough* when I get round to buying my Luke *cough*

I notice a similarity between Rap and a square dance caller..
Honestly ,

I don't say that as derogitory and aplpogise to square dance callers , if it offends them,

Oh come on... what'd you expect? It has nothing to do with age, really, but it is a gendre thing... Metal is really uber-adenoidal Rock! It's all about posturing, really, and BC Rich guitars are "traditionally" appreciated by Metal players, for the most part... So, you're going to find a lot of head-banging loud mouth "my favorite guitar player can beat up your favorite guitar player" types on a BC Rich board, but that's okay, because that's part of the culture of Metal, and Metal couldn't be Metal without that uber-aggressive, purely masculine posing! (and in an ever more PC world, we men gotta hold onto every last bastion of male-ness we can!)

EB/MMs - on the other hand - tend to appeal to "mature" players or "independant" thinkers who want a really good, solid, toneful guitar, and aren't afraid to thing outside the box... whole different culture really...

...well, that's my theory, anyway... :D

Well. I can tell you one thing. A few weeks ago i jammed with one of my new co workers who plays drums. he is 21. I went over to his (parents) house hello Mr. and Ms.( man that took me back 20 years) LOL. Anyway. i plugged in my silhouette special threw a few Keeley toys and then into my JCM800.
You should of seen the look on his face when i hit an F# funky type riff.

All he knew about (mainly) was youger dudes cranking there scooped mesa's to hell. (no harm inteneded here)

It felt good to see that experience and long quests for tone pay off!

I went to the BC Rich forum and read all the responses there. Quite entertaining...:D . I must admit, I am not a Van Halen fan. I do however, feel he has done a tremendous amount for guitar playing and guitar players in general. My instructor makes me play Van Halen tunes, not because I like them, but because it will make me a better player down the road. I play Van Halen stuff all the time as part of my practicing daily. I still do not like the music by them (just never got into it), but my playing has gotten better and more open to various things. Eddie is a true talent and "fetussatan" or whatever his name is might come to appreciate Van Halen down the road. Eddie certainly has influenced everyone one way or another. If that kids idols finger tap one time, then his heroes were influenced by Van Halen and so is he. He just doesn't know it! I know I have been influenced by him one way or another and can admit, he is one of the Guitar Gods.

Shoot, all this maturity talk has made me rethink my plan to post a hundred posts about why Van Halen is better than anything else, and in the process make everyone fell inferior to me with my rashly planned and completely misspelled flames. I was going to then go on the web and find pictures of people who I think look funny and post them telling you all that they look like you.

I will have to save that masterpiece for the ESP boards.

Oh well, I will leave you with this little gem:
