Hello, I'm new to the forum.

I've seen this question asked a million times in various forums and I apologize for asking it again. I have the EB 6180 Jr Volume pedal. Love it. However, I recently went back to using a pedal tuner (kept losing my intellitouch tuners at gigs) and I wanted to use the TUNER OUT jack on my EB Vol to go to my Hardwire Polyphonic Tuner pedal tuner.

I've heard that the EBV splits the signal when using the Tuner Out so I can expect some possible issues down my FX chain, which is why I have a buffer and a boost. ( I have about 9 pedals in my chain right now.) When I patched the Tuner Out jack to the input of my pedal, I got no signal regardless of where the EBV was set. If I put the Tuner Pedal in the FX chain, it works fine.

My intention was to use the Tuner Out on the EBV to the Tuner pedal and always have it on, but keep it out of my signal chain. I want to have a constant polyphonic display of my tuning so I can tune in the middle of a song rather than steping on a pedal and muting my guitar. Doesn't appear that I can do that. Anyone have any advice? Am I missing something? Thanks very much for your patience with a topic that's likely been beat to death!

Hi O, and welcome.

You've got a problem somewhere with a cable or a jack.

I am using my VP Jr. just as you want to. I have my tuner (a Strobostomp, but that shouldn't make any difference) connected to the tuner out and it is on all of the time so that I can tune on the fly just as you want to. You've got an issue somewhere that you need to isolate. It will work as you want it to once you get the cable or jack sorted.

Hmmm.... I'm using brand new Mogami patch cables that I've A/B's with other pedals and they work fine. Like I said, the Tuner works just fine when it's in my FX chain, so I guess I've got a bad Tuner Out jack on my EBV. Crap. I guess it's off to my local repair shop. Thanks for the quick reply!

No prob. Yes, if the cables are good then it must be the jack. It could also be break in the signal path inside the pedal, but the jack is much more likely to be the culprit.

The Hardwire Polyphonic Tuner pedal tuner is a true bypass pedal. Once it's enabled it mutes everything in front and what ever is in back of it. The Boss TU/3 has a true Bypass -out- in that it can always be turned on. I love the hardwire polyphonic tuner and it's in the front of my chain. Hardwire has some very nice pedals.
