Hi all - hope someone can help!
I recently bought a VP jr 250k pedal for use with my acoustic, with a passive sunrise pickup...Im a bit unsure if I have the right model though as the swell only kicks in during the last inch of the pedals travel - giving me very little dynamic control..I was told the 250 k unit was the right choice with a passive PU, and flicking the little switch inside the casing seems to make little if any difference..

Any advice much appreciated - the pedal sits at the tart of my chain, pre the pre amp and eqs etc..
Thanks:)

In the 250k version of the pedal, there is a dip switch on the circuit board. If you put the pedal toe-up, you can feel the switch with your finger on the left side of the electronics box. You might try flipping it the opposite way than it is. It's a taper switch which may or may not help.

Hi - its at the start of the chain - as I was recommended to do....Im sorry, dont know what a 'buffered pedal' is? - do you mean something to up the line signal?
I was under the impression the whole idea of the 250k pot was to boost the signal of a passive pickup...
ThinkI might just have to try a different pedal.

Noit is not a boost at all. It is simply away to control your volume on your feet instead of your hands. It is important to get the right value for your guitar. For example an a guitar with a 500k volume pot would work best with the EB vol pedal that is 500k. Guitars with active pickups or keyboards would work best with the 25k pedal and guitars with a 250k volume pot work best with the 250k pedal.

All this of course doesn't matter if you are looking for asignal boost.

I think the 6165 Stereo Ernie Ball Volume pedal Handles both passive and active. I love this volume pedal so much that I'm getting another one to keep in the box just in case.

Hi - brokenvail - thanks for your reply. I realise its not a 'boost' pedal - my miswording. - I am simply after a volume / swell/ pedal to use with some delay effects.
My concern is that the pedal only works for the last inch of the pedals travel. ie, there is around 85% of the pedals travel that does nothing. I was told the 250K pedal is for use with passive pickups. Is this not correct?
As it is an acoustic I do not have a volume pot, just the pickup.

O well.

Maxine I do not have that model but I totally understand your issue. If your pedal is is not doing anything 85% of the way compressed something is not right. I would advise you to remove the pedal from your board and just try the pedal into your amp and see how that goes. If you get the same results take it back from where you purchased it and explain your situation to the salesman, I am sure you will have it straightened out quickly.Good Luck.

Maxine, The best is to contact Customer Service here-----> Ernie Ball | Contact Us There is not too much to the volume pedal and they would for sure be able to help you in real time as you could explain your entire set up. Good luck!

Sometimes if you put a pedal that is not true bypass, but has a buffer amp, like a boss pedal, before or after a passive volume pedal it can change the sweep and give a little brighter tone

Maxine-

sorry it's taken so long to answer your questions...

I am using the same pedal that you're using with my acousic i've used several acoustics through this pedal into my amp... i've used the Parkwood PW360M equipped with the Fishman setup... i've also used it with a Taylor 314CE and i believe that was Fishman EQ,
