Looks like a good weekend for cab purchasing! I actually bought mine last weekend but didn't capture the photo evidence until now. Have been playing through the LMII for a good few months now, but I'd DEFINITELY had enough of lugging the 100lb 4x10 Peavey monster to upstairs gigs, so I bit the bullet (and took a good-sized chunk out of my credit card) and picked up the Traveler 15. I was originally worried the single 8ohm cab might not cut it against 2 guitarists and a loud drummer, but after last week's rehearsal I needn't have worried. I may still eventually add a second cab, but for now I'm hanging out in bass heaven.

Putting this amp and cab together couldn't be a better match, it really brings out the low-end Stingray growl that I don't think I've ever actually experienced until now. The ability to carry the thing in one hand is just a bonus! The "car stereo" amp and "little orange box" cab comments from my guitarists may have been funny to start with, but I think I ended up with the last laugh!

Also loving my recently acquired '89/'90 "rescue" Stingray. She appears to have lead a rough life, but when I picked her up in the shop and felt how unbelievably LIGHT she was, followed by the incredible feel and playability, I just couldn't say no. Personally I really like the "finished" neck, and recently personalised her with some limited edition pickguard "bling" I obtained from someone on that "other" forum, ha-ha (which actually looks a lot better than I was expecting).

:p

Leave it to YOU Mark! ;)

I thought the toilet bowl analogies only applied to Bongos?

And no, it's one of dem pickguards from dem dere Copperhead Bronze basses. Looks better "in the flesh", just depends on how the light catches it. You can't say it isn't... original. Though I must admit, it doesn't compare to the black/tort vomit combo you seem to go for...

:D

According to the MarkBass website, 37.3 lbs / 16.9 kg. First cab I've ever owned that I could carry in one hand. Unbelievable!

Sorry Tiff, I don't use one and know so little about the different ones you could possibly buy that I can't really advise you. I too thought about getting a Cafe Walter sent over by The Dude as I've heard such good things, though rumour has it they are so sensitive they not only accurately reproduce your sound but also reveal poor hand technique (no comments Mark), so I should probably avoid it altogether!

Good luck with your search though, you could possibly enquire over at that "other" UK bass forum, though it has been down for the last two days.

Tascam CD-BT1 Tiff, couldn't be without mine, I use it every day.

By the way, for anyone who knows about Bassworld.co.uk, it's folded due to the owner of the site's lack of interest in it, but all existing members are now invited to take part in the new version called basstalk.co.uk. A bit simillar in name to another well know bass forum, but we hope it'll be a lot better and more reliable.

Tiffles could buy one in the UK and bring it to HK for you, since she's got a stopover there on the way home? The LittleMarkII weighs 6lbs and won't take up much space in her luggage :D HK is 220/240v isn't it?

Tiff, if a Cafe Walter is out of your price range, you should be able to pick up a used Tascam on ebay in the UK at a decent price. You could buy it with the birthday gift I sent you last year :p

alright :D i'll see what i would like to get and save up some money :)

edit// I just checked what i saved up, and right now i have $1000 USD to spend. What is a good combination with a Little Mark II that would fit the price range and not be too heavy to lug around?
