Last week I sold my standard Morse to my wife's uncle. Since I have known him we always talked guitars, so he had heard my enthousiasm about Music Man from the moment I started playing them. When I had to move some gear (to fund a PDN purchase) I thought I'd give him a call to see if he was interested. Well, it took him only a few minutes of playing and the guitar was sold! Nice to sell a guitar and still be able to keep track of it. Don't know yet if he will be completely "assimilated" but kudo's for him to try the unknown!

Did any of you do some kind of missionary work for MM? I find that few guitarists really know the brand over here, but I don't let an opportunity pass to tell someone how great these guitars are.

A lot of guitar players ask me about my silhouette special because they'll never have seen it before and just love the tone. When I mention Music Man, those who ever pay any attention to their bass players will recognise the name. For the rest, it's a whole new thing. For a city of 2 million people, and 11 million including the suburban area, it's a bit disappointing. :(

Yep I have converted my band mate who was a Fender/Gibson guy. He started with a Luke II, then when I got my Axis Sport SSS he was so enthousiastic that he purchased one (wow 2 Axis Sport SSS in the same band ahahahah) the he got a Luke I and recently traded his 1977 Gibson for a Petrucci fully loaded.

I think I did a good job so far :p

When we play live only EBMM guitars are out including my Bongo bass

I bought a Silhouette Special for myself to learn guitar (I'm a bass player) and brought it to rehearsal to show my guitarist. He fell head over heels in love with it (EBMM guitars are pretty rare in Sweden), so naturally I let him buy it. Since then his other guitars are very rarely played, and he gets this crazy smile of happiness every time we play. In his own words, it's the best guitar he's ever owned - and he's owned quite a few.

I then got a 20th from the forum, and have made it very clear to him that I intend to keep this one for me.
He is planning a trip to GC Manhattan as we speak. :D

Ask my buddy TSHOW. All he had to do was play my tobacco burst, rosewood neck Ass and he sold every PRS to fund his 5 Ball addiction.

I am a Missionary, here in México!

I sold my ASS to a brother in the Lord here, about a year ago. He travels a lot with a Praise and Worship band. He sold a lot of gear to make the purchase. But now, there are a lot of young guitar players here who are being exposed to EBMM. There just are not very many of them here. :( I could sell my Reflex in a second, if wanted to.

Didn't know that! I'm always pulling my mates leg over his PRS's - can't tell ya here what I say about them lol.

Personally - I got converted by a bass player in the band I was in at the time - lasted one gig before my fuse tripped and ... .... .well one gig was enough!!
He had a Stingray bass at the time. I had my Les Paul and Tele and was looking for a change!! The rest is history as they say.

Semi pro - I worked on the stands of a few shows for Strings n Things - I know that apart from some guitars, I definately convinced some doubters, of the merits of the Big Al bass.

Don't know that I "converted" anyone, but before I ever got an EBMM, I told my buddy kneeoh that I wanted a JP6 back when they had just come out. He managed to afford one before I did. Ever since that first JP6, he's been a devoted EBMM owner.

i was at GC a few years back when the 25th came out and was playing one in the platinum room and a young man and his father came in and were impressed... the two were there shopping for a 16th Bday gift (if i recall) and was there to buy a PRS... after about 10 minutes of me raving about the EBMM he played it and his eyes lit up and his jaw dropped...

The sad news is he was stuck on the mindset that EBMM was only a bass company and thought this was their first crack at guitars... i spoke very highly and tried to convince him this was not their first trip to the Rodeo...

even though he liked everything about the 25th better than the PRS he just couldn't do it...
i was really close... and opened his eyes to the wonderful world of EBMM... he'll make the switch one day...

Baaaaaah. Pete.....now I understand why you are in the warm up band to introduce the main act, yellow 9. You're playing bass. Everyone knows that the bass players get all the gigs. That's sorta cheating......

A guy I work with played the green Axis in my avatar. His next guitar purchase will be EBMM. I've also been sharing some AxeFx KoolAid with him. ;)

BeccaOfOz and I have been doing our best MusicMan-Evangelism with the local high school kids. Not sure how many have found the true path yet, but one of Bec's friends has now short-listed the Stingray 5 for a forthcoming major bass purchase.

Best friend and a cousin so far. Everyone who plays my guitars swears they need to own one. That's the only logical reaction, of course.

One of my friends was looking for a single coil loaded guitar and was torn between a road worn tele and a road worn strat, I pointed him in the direction of the Albert Lee and once we managed to track one down for him to play he loved it, he eventually found a great deal on a used one and still has it/loves it.

Also been trying for years to convert my dad from the "F" brand to MM and while he cannot fault the build quality, playability etc of MM guitars so much of what he wants (and I guess a lot of people our there do as well) out of his guitars is to emulate his guitar playing heroes (clapton, SRV etc) that the emotional connection to the brand is not going to be broken.
