so much of what he wants (and I guess a lot of people our there do as well) out of his guitars is to emulate his guitar playing heroes

Absolutely, that's why we same the same old stuff everywhere we go. That's kind of a part of the MM market too, so let's not knock it! Of course now we see Joe Walsh playing Lukes and Petruccis, Bonamassa playing Morses and Petruccis, John Fogerty plays Petruccis too. These guys are way out of JP's genre and style but those guitars are so much more versatile than Dream Theatre could ever suggest. I wonder if anyone ran out and bought a Petrucci because they saw JB playing one? :)

Almost talked a close friend into ordering a 25th, and then took him to the San Jose GC where BP and Co. were playing (including Luke and Morse). Said friend met with BP after, and was convinced. I think he ended up buying it from Pete.

My buddy now owns a Dargie I Silo, too...

I've converted a bunch of my students and nearly all of my friends! It's funny how quickly people get used to playing guitars that stay in tune and always play/sound good!

Other band member who´s playing keys and guitar sells his 7ender Strat when he first played my Silo Special SSS. A week later he also had one picked up. Since this time we´re three guys in the band playing EBMM, two guitars and our bass player has a EBMM Sterling.

My friend who has been playing for 20 years would not consider anything other than Les Pauls. He tried my ASS and within 5 mins was raving about it. He now has one and even though the Les Paul goes with him to every gig it doesnt get a lot of use now. EB rules!

YES. Got a friend of mine, who played mainly Les Paul and Ibanez. He was so impressed with EBMM he bought 2, a JP6 and ASS. Now the ASS is his main guitar.
Also got a couple of my students to buy SBMM, and I will continue recomending this line to students who can't afford high end guitars.

My son, Noah (12), has converted his bass teacher (an awesome player and a Berkley grad who plays out alot).

Noah's Dargie 2 Big Al influenced the teacher to trade in his $4000 bass to g.c. for a 5 string Big Al, and he told me that he's glad he did. He said that no student has ever influenced him to buy anything ever before, until now. He picked up a beautiful baby blue 5 string Big Al. He told me that he played at a festival with the Big Al, then switched to a P Bass, and one of the guys in the band asked him to switch back to the Big Al.

My brother often says that my Albert hh is the best playing and sounding guitar I have but he would never buy one because it makes him sick to look at :).
I personally think it's a work of art...

Perhaps he will come around.

Many people have come to appreciate the AL model as one of the best playing/sounding, guitars on the market.

When you discover this, you are hooked in, and seeing the AL in so many awesome combos, both config and color, it's game over.

Once you go AL, you never go back!

I can still remember the first time I saw Albert Lee holding the AL model......actually said "Axis" on the headstock if I remember correctly. Then some time later someone came in the local music store with one of the earlier models. I had never even played a MM guitar prior and was completely floored by the overall feel. It really is an exceptional instrument both in playability and design.

Since I've been on this forum I've seen a lot of knuckleheads gravitate towards the Al, with it becoming their favourite guitar. I don't see too many people going the other way, although there have been some examples.
